homes that inspire.

What the what?  Another blog post so soon after the last.  Yep!  But I'm not going to get ahead of myself.  I've just been feeling really inspired by gorgeous homes as of late and had to share some of that.  These colors, textures, and spaces have me feeling all sorts of giddy.  And hello, can we talk about that first photo.  That indoor - outdoor space.  Gimme, gimme, pretty please.

comfort.

Oh hellllllo there, I am back.  Apologies for my little hiatus, but I got a bad case of food poisoning that literally knocked me on my back for a few days.  Wowza.  Well, thank goodness that's over and here I am.  And while I do my best to get back into the swing of things, here are a few cozy comforts that have been on my mind this week while my poor little stomach has healed.  Hope you are all feeling well.

mirror.

I love how even a small wall mirror can make a big impact on a room.  Whether it be round, square, or a little artsy, I love them all.  Here are a few of my faves.

pillow head.

We had an amazing weekend, but like most weekends, I'm always wishing for one more day.  One more day to explore new places, eat at new restaurants, wander around new spaces, take more time to relax...but it is Monday folks.  Time to get the week started.  Ummm, but as I start the new week, I may or may not be picturing myself with my head asleep on one of these pretty pillows.

small room walls.

I stopped by my friend's studio yesterday and she showed me some of the amazing wallpaper selections she was choosing between for the powder room.  It got my thinking about how fun it would be to use wallpaper in a small space.  I love the floral patterns of these and think they would look amazing in our future powder room, or closet, or any space that could benefit from a punch of flower power.

poufs.

Let me start by saying this, not one more piece of furniture can fit into our 650 square foot apartment.  But that certainly doesn't stop me from browsing home stores every chance I get.  I recently spotted that moroccan wedding style pouf at Calypso and fell in love.  Then stumbled across this new one at West Elm.  Uhhhhh please tell me how I am supposed to resist both of these?

dipped dishes.

Oh helllloooo there gold dipped dishes.  Where have you been my whole life?  I mean, is someone kidding me?!?  These need to get into my home immediately.  And what would I put on these beauties?  Well perhaps one of my all time favorite desserts, lemon bars.  My mom honestly makes the best bars (I need to steal her recipe).  Check out this new recipe I found that adds a bit of rosemary to the crust...yum!

home pretties.

I'm currently coveting these two items for our home.  That amazing marble + wood cheese board (which would also make a great hostess gift) is high on my list.  I'm also loving this plant riser.  I have managed to keep most (but not all) of my succulents alive, so I have a little ways to go until I'm ready for a full on riser filled with plants.  But I'm slowly on my way.

dinner by me.

This might not sound like breaking news, but believe me it is...I made dinner last night.  Yep, all by myself (note: I did have to call my sister once to verify the cooking time).  Ha!  So, in case you didn't already know, my husband is the chef in this home...but he might have some competition now.  What I made wasn't anything fancy or crazy (I made vegetarian enchiladas), but I gotta say they were darn good.  And I actually kind of enjoyed being in the kitchen.  Here's to more dinners cooked by yours truly (but I'm not making any promises).  p.s. How pretty are these kitchens?  A girl can dream.
